u-he releases RePro-Alpha free synth plugin

u-he has announced the release of RePro-Alpha, a free researchware synthesizer instrument for Windows and Mac.

It is an excessively CPU hungry anti-optimized monophonic synthesizer, in essence a stripped down version of the Sequential Circuits Pro-One we're currently modeling.

The research part is, we have implemented the same pretty extreme model of the CEM3320 Curtis filter chip in our vintage Pro-One using 5 different numerical methods, each costing a very different amount of CPU. We wish for you to spot the "most analogue" sounding method. By that we wish to see if it is worth spending a lot of CPU or if we could get away with something cheaper.

Tritik updates Krush to v1.0.3

Tritik has updated their free bitcrusher plugin Krush to v1.0.3.

Changes:

- Fixed: anormal signal distorsion for buffer sizes smaller than 256.

Krush is a bitcrusher for Mac OS X and Windows, available in Audio Unit, VST and AAX formats.

With its bit crushing and downsampling algorithms, Krush is designed to combine the crispy taste of the digital realm with the warmth of its drive stage and analog modeled resonant filters.

A modulation section allows a user to modulate any parameter. The sound palette produced by Krush is intended to range from dirty digital effects to crunchy modulated colors, with all bit-crushing effects in between.

FREE Ignite Amps TS-999 Overdrive Stomp-Box v1.5.2 x32 x64 WIN MAC

TS-999 "SubScreamer" is a digital emulation of an overdrive pedal for guitar. It has been developed to accurately model its real hardware counterpart, built for Subhuman guitarists Matteo Buti and Elia Murgia by Ignite Amps in 2010.
The TS-999 core circuit is inspired by the most famous green "808" overdrive pedal, with additional features to increase its versatility. It can easily add dirt and bite to clean guitar tones, as well as make the amplifier distortion sound tighter, more focused and more responsive to picking, avoiding low-end muddiness and high-end fizz.

Every single component on the signal path of the real analog circuit has been taken into account and modeled in the best possible way to match the original sound, keeping an eye to CPU performances and real-time playability at the same time.
TS-999 is meant to be used as an overdrive pedal for live playing, tracking or mixing inside hosts capable of VST or AU Plug-Ins support.

Main Features:
  • Dynamic 2N3904 BJT input and output buffers analog modeling.
  • Dynamic 1N4148 diode clipping circuit analog modeling.
  • Op-amp saturation analog modeling.
  • Symmetric / Asymmetric clipping mode.
  • Normal / Fat bass response mode.
  • Mono / Stereo processing support.
  • Switchable Input and Output Buffer modeling to decrease CPU usage.
  • Selectable oversampling rate (up to 8x).
  • Variable Input Level control for better response to different pickups.
  • Double precision (64 bit) floating point mathematical model.
  • Fully automatable controls.
  • Zero latency.

Cerberus Audio - Ice9 v1.0.2 {FREEWARE}

Cerberus Audio - Ice9 v1.0.2 {FREEWARE}

Ice9 Automute's soft-muting function will begin to attenuate the gain before a single sample over the threshold has passed. Instantaneous radical attenuation will occur if the threshold is exceeded by a severe and potentially dangerous amount.

Ice9's soft muting uses Volt's technology to let you know you're over the limit in a gentle, pleasant manner, without the rude click which a hard mute-unmute would cause.

FREE
Best of all, Ice9 Automute is free.

Noisebud - Chokida EQ v1.0 AND Noisebud - Bompa v3.0

Noisebud - Chokida EQ v1.0

Chokidar EQ is intended for balancing mixes in mastering. Chokidar is build from an ingenious analogue concept that would have knocked your socks of if it wasn’t for the amount of added noise.

When we went through the blue prints for the analogue circuits we realized that it would be fairly easy to make a digital version that would be completely noise free (digital “cabling” is good that way) so

we went ahead and created the Hi-Shelf filter at first and got stunned how good it was. The principle seemed to migrate really well into the digital world so we decided to build the whole damn thing.

You can almost guess what it does by just listen to it and you might as well do that because we’re going to keep the concept a secret, at least for now.

Noisebud - Bompa v3.0

Bompa was one of the first plugins we made, the idea was to create a plugin that did everything that you shouldn’t do to audio in one, all mighty Mayhem, plugin.

We didn’t post it on the site because we didn’t thought anyone would care about it but people always asked how we achieved the sound that it generated.

We told them that we used a plugin called Bompa and all of the sudden all of our friends wanted a copy.

All hell break loose when the German magazine “Beat” gave it good reviews and their 2 million readers visited our site… not really, all their readers didn’t visit but enough for us to realize that we probably had created something unique.

The difference between Bompa and similar overdrive/distortion plugins is that Bompa let you carve out your own characteristic in a way we haven’t found anywhere else. It’s suitable for both subtle usage in mastering to add warmth or for use while mixing creatively to mess things up beyond recognition.

New in 3.0:

Reworked all graphics from scratch
Reworked the limiter
The dry signal can be routed in different ways
added a bypass button
