KarmaStation has announced a free kick drum instrument that generates the kick from scratch through synthesis.
No samples, no layering, no scrolling through nine hundred one-shots hoping one of them sits right. You shape the sound with a handful of controls that each do exactly one thing, and you can see all of them at once.
KarmaKick features controls for the pitch drop (start, end and time), amp decay, drive, click, output level and a compressor, and 4 waveforms to choose from. The plugin comes with 6 factory presets to get you started.
Available for Windows and macOS in VST3 and AU plugin formats, and as standalone software with a built-in step sequencer, KarmaKick is a “pay what you like” download, including free.

The first release of the CA-72, a synthesizer plug-in (VST3 and CLAP) for macOS, Windows and Linux whose voice is modelled from the circuit of a 1970s analogue synthesizer: monophonic like the instrument, or one whole instrument per note with POLY.
