Designed to be both powerful and affordable, TyrellN6 is a compact but versatile synth based on ideas for a hardware instrument by Amazona (www.amazona.de) that never came to fruition. After many ups and downs with the hardware concept, Urs (u–he) offered to develop a software version as he already had a majority of the proposed features in an early version of Diva. It was eventually agreed that u–he would provide the synth engine if Amazona would take care of everything else, and distribute this version as freeware. The original concept called for a streamlined set of modules, which was retained in the software: No panel switching or menu diving at all ensures a very fast, fun workflow!

VK-1 Viking Synthesizer is an authentic emulation of a classic monophonic analog synthesizer. It has three continuously variable wave oscillators, two ladder filters with a Dual Lowpass or Highpass/Lowpass configuration, a multi-wave LFO, and two modulation busses. VK-1 uses state of the art DSP technology to accurately reproduce the sound of the hardware.
Presets
VK-1 comes with 228 presets in the categories Bass, Bright Lead, Electro Bass, FX, Percussive Lead, Soft Lead, and Synthwave. The 50 Electro Bass and 50 Synthwave presets were created by experienced sound designer eXode. The synth excels at thick bass and rich lead sounds.
Oscillators
At the heart of VK-1 are three adjustable wave oscillators. The continuously variable waveform knob gives the oscillators a unique sound that can’t be achieved with the fixed waveforms found in most synths. A noise oscillator provides three types of noise.
Modulation
Two modulation busses and an LFO provide flexible modulation capabilities.
Filter
The filter is a classic transistor ladder filter modeled meticulously. Different drive modes are available for adding grit. The number of poles is adjustable for a wider range of filter sounds.
VK-1 Render
VK-1 has cutting edge DSP technology:
– VK-1’s oscillators have been measured from hardware
– VK-1’s oscillators have drift and jitter
– VK-1’s oscillators use advanced techniques to avoid aliasing
– VK-1’s filters are nonlinear ZDF with carefully tuned self-oscillation
– VK-1’s envelopes have been matched to hardware
New for VST
The graphics of VK-1 have been completely redone with Retina support. Using experience gained over the past several years, the sound quality has been updated to sound more rich, smooth, and creamy.

OB-Xd is a classic synthesizer with a timeless sound that continues to captivate musicians and producers alike.
With its rich, full-bodied tones and expansive sound design capabilities, the OB-Xd is the perfect choice for those looking to add a vintage touch to their music. Whether you're producing electronic tracks, recording live instruments, or composing for film and television, the OB-X is an invaluable tool that will bring a unique and expressive quality to your sound. So why wait? Add an OB-Xd to your studio today and take your music to the next level!
The OB-Xd is a synthesizer that has been designed to recreate the sound and behavior of the Oberheim OB-X.
However, the original design of the OB-X was limited in some ways, so the OB-Xd includes a number of additional or altered features. One key feature of the OB-Xd is its implementation of micro random detuning, which helps to create a fuller, richer sound. Overall, the OB-Xd has been designed to produce a sound that is as good and as rich as the original OB-X.
Overview:
While not copying originals, some of the features were taken to a better point. Continuous blendable multimode filter (HP-Notch(BP)-HP in 12 dB mode and 4-1 pole in 24 dB mode). Also, like many synths of the OB-X's generation, the OB-Xd has no internal effects so its sounds and textures can be greatly enhanced by the use of additional processing like chorus, reverb, delay, etc.
Additionally, for those interested in micro-tuning, the OB-Xd comes equipped with support for MTS-ESP. This allows for more granular control over your tuning adjustments, perfect for the discerning synth musician.
Free version includes fully functional Standalone app, Audio Unit and VST plug-ins. Registered version delivers both 2.x and 3.x commercial rights1, AAX, VST3, and LV2 plug-ins and technical support to help you get the most out of the software.

Vember Audio's Surge has been updated to version 1.6.6. This fixes several bugs and adds a few key features.
Audio and Performance Changes:
- The "Absolute" unison mode was both sample rate dependant and mis-calibrated. Correct it so that, at all sample rates, a "16hz" absolute unison is a 16hz unison spread.
- Unison range can now be extended, giving unison spreads up to one octave (pitch) or 192Hz (absolute).
- The Window Oscillator now supports FM, and is calibrated to use the same FM Depth as FM2/3/Sin oscillators.
- We initialize modulators before the initial voice start, setting the first modulator value at voice initiation correctly and avoiding a 32-sample "sweep" across a modulator value at voice onset.
- Fix two bugs with the sustain pedal; first sustain on channels 3 and 4 didn't work, and second pressing a key multiple times while sustain was held would lead to an incorrect state.
- Fix a bug with the tuning engine where mappings with root keys far outside of scale ranges gave incorrect results.
- Make the Oscillator display constant even in extreme tuning changes.
LV2 Changes:
- The LV2 had incorrectly advertised the identity of its ports. Change to use unique symbols for each port. Unfortunately this fix will break prior Surge sessions, but those prior sessions inconsistently streamed the synth state in most LV2 hosts.
- The LV2 didn't advertise all parameter changes leading to a port being non-synchronized.
Smaller Changes:
- The VST3/Windows plugin properly formats the automation display of the CC parameters.
- The FX slots and automation parameters are named more consistently, as are several menus and labels.
- The value popup window popup on mouse-down not mouse-move on a slider.
- The patch and wavetable menus have refresh options on the popup menu, not just in menu/data and patches.
- Slider mouse behavior in medium and slow works more like classic when over-dragging.
- Added an init patch which assigns a distinct modulator envelope to each OSC.
- Add a regtest that parameter IDs are stable across versions.
- Modify the build pipeline so the Linux .deb file has correct ownership on shared assets.
- Stream the WaveTable name into the patch.
- Correct the "open tuning library" menu on Windows.
- Fix a bug with opening and closing the VST2 on Linux.
Dead Duck Software has released Dead Duck Deducktion v1.2.0, free plugin subtractive synthesizer in VST 2.4 format for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit hosts.
The latest release is now available and includes the following enhancements:
- A new 'Single-Page' view allowing the Main and LFO/Env pages to be combined into a single view for easier patch creation. Use the 'Use Single-Page View' option in the main settings menu to enable this.
- Oscillator detune spread and mix controls (see the Osc sub tab).
Breaking changes: the encoding of the oscillator random-phase and Sub Alt-mode parameters has changed so any patches that make use of these will probably have to be revisited.
Oscillator random phase is now selected by setting the phase parameter to it's maximum value. Sub Alt-mode is activated by setting the menu option to a waveform combination, set to 'Off' to restore default sub behaviour.
