History

The long road from hardware to software…

Designed to be both powerful and affordable, TyrellN6 is a compact but versatile synth based on ideas for a hardware instrument by Amazona (www.amazona.de) that never came to fruition. After many ups and downs with the hardware concept, Urs (u–he) offered to develop a software version as he already had a majority of the proposed features in an early version of Diva. It was eventually agreed that u–he would provide the synth engine if Amazona would take care of everything else, and distribute this version as freeware. The original concept called for a streamlined set of modules, which was retained in the software: No panel switching or menu diving at all ensures a very fast, fun workflow!

YS _ RV-2 Audio reverb plugin. Simple, but quite flexible in settings device. Low and high frequency filters are separately adjusted for early and late reflections. Mid frequencies of 2 kHz are common for the entire reverb. For early reflections there is an additional delay with auto-panning in the mid-low frequency range. Late reflections can be used in mono and with an extended panorama, and there is also a separate panorama control. The size of early reflections is selected by a large control in the center. Pre-delay of the entire reverb 0-100 ms, for late reflections 0-1000 ms Saturation with harmonics also gives a pumping effect as with light compression, compacting the entire reverb.

u-he releases TyrellN6 public beta 2025 (revision 16947)

 

u-he has introduced a new public beta of the TyrellN6 free software synthesizer for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Version 2025 revision 16947 comes with various improvements and bug fixes.

Since we are concentrating on Uhbik 2.0 and Zebra 3.0 this year, we couldn’t churn out a full-fledged update right now. Instead, we simply fixed some crucial bugs, added our modern browser and a makeshift preferences section. But don’t expect new features or a new GUI. There is no fancy MIDI learn section, no MPE support, and the CLAP version does not include per voice parameter modulation.

Viktor invested a lot of time to completely revamp the factory library. Windows and Linux users, it’s better to manually delete the old factory library before installing the update, so you don’t end up with a total mess.
