GPU Audio has announced the second installment in its FREE Beta Suite, a collection of professional quality audio effects using the immense processing power of your GPU.
The Space and Time Bundle includes standalone tools for creating space using classic time-based effects, all utilizing GPU Audio’s patented technology, powering the next generation of audio plugins via your computer’s graphics card.
The bundle includes 3 fully featured delay and reverb plugins, including the original FIR Convolver, the powerful FIReVerb Reverb unit, and a flexible Delay module. Each plugin comes with a host of parameters and features.
The Space and Time bundle is now available for Windows, with GPU Audio rolling out beta support for MacOS later this year. In the meantime, Apple owners can download the FREE early access support for Apple M1 & M2 devices with the FIR Convolver plugin.
As with the previous beta suite release, the Space & Time bundle will be incrementally updated with new features, so look out for improvements, tweaks, and refinements in the near future. All feedback on the collection is valued and gratefully received on their Discord channel where they provide support directly to their community. Feedback can also be provided using this form.
This first wave of plugins showcases the GPU Audio technology, with a number of 3rd party plugins to be unveiled in the coming months with high profile partners, the first of which will be made in conjunction with Spatial Audio company Mach1. Find out what else is coming for GPU Audio (including a GPU Powered Synth) in the blog post ‘What’s In Store For 2023’.
GPU Audio will be at NAMM this year, hosting the Innovation Lounge, a space dedicated to cutting edge audio technology – through panels, interactive demos and live musical performances.
This future-focused space is dedicated to showcasing the technologies which will dawn the next generation of audio advancements and innovations, through inspirational live performances, expert panels, and in-depth presentations from the pioneers of our industry.
Spanning cutting edge technologies such as Machine Learning, Audio Platforms, Cloud Computing, Game Audio, Artificial Intelligence and Immersive Audio, the space will host the brightest minds at the forefront of music technology and pro audio. Partnering alongside GPU Audio are Genelec, Splice, Vienna Symphonic Library, Mach1, MNTRA, and Harmonai with hardware support from Apogee, Razer, and Soyuz Microphones.
IVGI can deliver very soft and subtle saturation, that feels at home on the master buss. It is equally capable of very dense and dirty distortion effects to spice up single tracks. IVGI's base sound is comparable to the DESK mode in the big brother SDRR.
Just as SDRR, IVGI reacts dynamically to the input signal. Even the modeled fluctuations react dynamically and also change depending on the drive setting, so that it doesn't get in the way of the
SOUND. Stereo tracks benefit from it's modeled crosstalk behavior.
Just as its big brother SDRR, IVGI features a Controlled Randomness, which determines the internal drift and variance inside the unit. It contributes to the liveliness and realness of IVGI's saturation character. To achieve this, all internal processes are modulated to some extent.
IVGI gives you a sensible amount of controls to manipulate the character of the saturation itself. It offers a unique ASYM MIX knob to alter the symmetry of the signal without affecting the harmonic content much.
IVGI also lets you alter the frequency dependency of the saturation with the RESPONSE control.
Hi, I made this instrument a couple of years ago. I wanted to try the entire process of sampling drum instrument. My old friend Michal Zubaty provided his own drum kit that he plays. I recorded his drum kit with his settings and tuning in a small room covered by a lot of carpets, blankets and acoustic panels to get tight, vintage, raw sound. I also used non-traditional mic settings – two mics in front of the drums. The first mic (Front MONO) is below and captures dense frequencies. The other one (Front STEREO) is above the cymbals and captures the high frequencies. This combination gives you better control over frequency balancing. This drum kit works well with rock, jazz or funky styles. Each drum was recorded with 8 velocity layers and 4 round robins.
Since there aren’t many free drum kits out there, I believe it will be useful to someone.
