Gramophone awards



                  A pianista portuguesa Maria João Pires ganhou um “óscar” da música clássica

Maria João Pires venceu um dos mais importantes prémios da música clássica. A pianista portuguesa ganhou um prémio Gramophone, equivalente aos óscares no meio, e vai recebê-lo ainda este mês.

A pianista portuguesa Maria João Pires venceu o reputado prémio Gramophone, na categoria “Concerto”. Os prémios são considerados equivalente aos Óscares dentro da música clássica.

O prémio foi atribuído pela interpretação feita pela pianista dos concertos para piano nº 3 e nº 4 de Beethoven. O trabalho, gravado em parceria com a orquestra sinfónica da Rádio Sueca e com o maestro inglês Daniel Harding, foi editado em disco em 2014.

Os prémios Gramophone têm 12 categorias e existem desde 1977. O ano passado, o vencedor do prémio na categoria “Concerto” foi o pianista francês Jean-Efflam Bavouzet.

A pianista portuguesa está também nomeada para a categoria especial “Gravação do ano”, cujo vencedor será anunciado numa cerimónia marcada para o dia 17 de setembro, que decorrerá em Londres.

O coro da Gulbenkian foi também vencedor de um prémio Gramophone, na categoria Ópera, pela sua participação na ópera “Elektra” de Richard Strauss. Este foi o último espetáculo encenado pelo francês Patrice Chéreau (1966 – 2013) e contou com direção musical de Esa-Pekka Salonen à frente da Orquestra de Paris. Esta ópera também está nomeada para “Gravação do ano”.

Audacity version 2.1.1 released






The Audacity Team has announced the release of Audacity 2.1.1. for Windows, Mac, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.

Audacity 2.1.1 replaces all previous versions.

- The most visible new feature is scrubbing and seeking , including backwards play. Updates to Quick-Play also help with finding a precise position in the audio.
- You can now install plug-ins without restarting Audacity or add and remove any effect or generator from the menus.
- Over 50 bugs have been addressed with this release. Edits are now processed much faster in longer projects of a few hours duration.
- Effects now have presets. A new Limiter replaces the Hard Limiter effect. There's a new version of Vocal Removal, a cross-fade effect for combining clips on the same track and 'classic filters' available as an opt-in effect.

MiGiC for Windows, Beta 4 (VST)







FAQ and install notes:

There are tutorials that covers how to setup and configure MiGiC available here!
The Windows version of MiGiC is available as VSTs. Your guitar is converted to midi according to the following steps.
1.

Download and install MiGiC_VST_Beta4.exe
2.

Open your DAW and add MiGiC to the audio track which you have connected your guitar to.
3.

Create a software instrument track and use the midi output pin of the audio track you are running MiGiC (and have connected you guitar) to. (Note that the this step is different from the Mac version!).
4.

Adjust your input signal in the ”Audio” panel so that when you play the input meter on the right side of GUI lights up to approximately 50-80%.(If it doesn't light up at all make sure that you have monitor enabled on the track in your DAW and that you have enough input gain to the track.)
5.

Enjoy playing any instrument in the world with your guitar!
