Sound.Tools intros Matchering online mastering service with matching

Sound.Tools has introduced Matchering, the first instant audio mastering service that offers reference matching.

Matchering lets you apply mastering settings of a reference track to your own track. It is useful to producers who don’t want to learn manual mastering techniques or want to save time.

A lot of human routine tasks have become automated nowadays, and audio mastering is not an exception. Matchering by SOUND.TOOLS is brand new online automated mastering service. We already know of some similar services, so what’s the difference?

Matchering is the “First Instant Audio Mastering With Matching”, it means you will upload not one but two tracks:

The target (the track which you want to master, yours or not yours, you want it to sound like the reference)
The reference (another track, yours or not yours, you want your target to sound like it)

SOUND.TOOLS promises that the “matchered” target track will have almost the same RMS and spectrum than the reference track. Also it will be limited with the same peak level.

Krakli plugins releases KR5 free drum machine

Krakli plugins has released KR5, free VST plugin drum machine for Windows.

For the first time ever Krakli has created a drum machine.. Triggered by its own sequencer or via MDI or just played via the pads KR5 has 5 channels of flexible drum synthesis.

Autodafe releases free Mega Drum Machines Collection for Kontakt

Autodafe has released the Mega Drum Machines Collection, a free sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

This Kontakt library started as a personal project for myself, then evolved into something else.

The library contains samples of about 150 old, vintage, obscure, rare and hard to find drum machines.

The samples have been around since forever, I believe, I simply started to organize them a bit.

What has been done:

- Each kit has been mapped in a General Midi format (more or less, many old drum machines only have 4-5 sounds)
- Each kit has been divided into 5 groups: Kicks, Snares, Hats, Cymbals and Toms
- Each Group has custom controls for tuning, panning and volume
- Each kit has custom graphics

It tooks hours and hours getting the kits ready. The Collection is free but please consider a small donation, 5 dollars suggested.

WOK releases VSMINI free vocoder effect plugin for Windows

WOK has released VSMINI, a free vocoder effect plugin modeled after the Sennheiser VSM201 vocoder.

A Vocoder with 20 bands and the sound of the famous Sennheiser Vocoder (used by Kraftwerk and others).

This is a simplified version with less controls for easier usage. Modulation and carrier signals are fed into it by the left and right channel of the stereo input.

There is also an internal oscillator for use as the carrier with saw and noise waveform and optional MIDI control.

VSMINI is a free download for Windows (32-bit VST).

Thomas Mundt has released version 1.16 of LoudMax, a free loudness maximizer effect plugin for Windows and Mac.

Bedroom Producers Blog releases Grooove BPB free drum sampler plugin

BedroomProducers Blog has announced the release of Grooove BPB, a freeware drum sampler plugin based on the full version of brunsandspork’s Grooove.

Grooove BPB is a virtual drum sampler instrument, based on the excellent Grooove plugin by brunsandspork. This brilliant drum sampler puts an emphasis on playability and expressiveness, making sampled drums sound as dynamic and life-like as possible with easily accessible modulation controls.

This unique drum sampler features dual drum slots (6 in Grooove BPB, 128 in Grooove), each capable of holding two different drum samples simultaneously, with per-sample controls for volume, pan, pitch, sample start and length. Each drum slot also comes with a built-in LFO for modulating the filter cutoff and resonance, volume, pan, mix, pitch, sample delay, fade in/out, and sample start/end times.

All of these parameters can also be modulated via MIDI note velocity, which is the key to how Grooove makes sampled drums sound “alive”. Simply add a bit of velocity modulation to your snare sample’s filter cutoff and it will sound more muffled at lower velocities, just like a real drum!

Grooove BPB features:

Unique ‘dualistic’ Sound Engine allows for setting two velocity-dependent variations per sound.
14 drum kits and 150 drum samples built-in, expandable with external samples.
